July Craft

Animal Finger Puppets

CRAFT MATERIALS:
	Felt scraps
	Craft scissors
	Craft glue
	Sewing notions
	Permanent colored markers
	Cotton balls
Time needed: Under 1 Hour

1. For each puppet, first cut out a pair of 1 5/8- x 3-inch felt rectangles to serve as the front and back of the animal.

2. MR HORSE: For ears, cut out a pair of felt ovals (about 1 1/2 inches long). Fold them in half lengthwise and glue together the lower edges. Glue the bases of the ears to the back of the puppet. Add a fringed forelock, white mane and rounded muzzle. Use a marker to draw jawlines and nostrils.

3. BABY BIRD: Cut out a triangular felt bird beak and glue it in place. Add plumage.

4. SPOTTED HEIFER: Make cow ears following the same steps used for the horse. Glue on a pink muzzle. Color bold black spots on the ears and face.

5. PINK PIGGY: For floppy pig ears, use 2-inch felt circles. Attach them as previously described for the horse. For pig cheeks and a snout, glue on 1-inch felt circles.

6. WOOLEY LAMB: Attach ears horizontally to the front of the lamb. Glue a bit of cotton “wool” to the top of its head and draw on the face.

Last Day of School

The kids had their last day of school yesterday. There class sang them songs…a lot of songs but it was very cute. I think they are excited to be heading back to the states. They wont know what to do with all the space.

Crazy Crawlers

MATERIALS
1 paper egg carton
Scissors
Green paint
Paintbrush
Glue stick or craft glue
12 pairs wiggly eyes
Hole punch
12 pipe cleaners, assorted colors and thicknesses

Cut the 12 bumps out of the egg-carton bottom and trim them so they look like small cups. Paint the outside green, or another bug color, and let them dry. Choose the best side for the face and glue on the eyes. Punch a hole for the mouth, positioning the hole at the edge. Add three leg holes on each side with the hole punch. Cut all the pipe cleaners into 4-inch sections for the legs and antennae. Poke two holes above the eyes for the antennae (you will need to use a pushpin or pencil, or snip with scissors).

For the legs, insert one pipe-cleaner piece through one side hole and out the other side. Bend it up inside the shell and into shape for the legs and feet. To make the antennae, push the pipe cleaner through one hole and out the other, bending it into shape. Now the critters are ready to crawl.

Jared & Isaiah speaking Spanish

Well the boys are understanding and speaking Spanish.

Jared can rattle of a lot of different phrases and understands everything.

Isaiah can follow commands in Spanish so we know he understands. when he starts talking more it will be both, English and Spanish.

Jared is out of Diapers

Yay!! Jared II is out of diapers…except for bedtime! We never really minded changing diapers until we didn’t have to anymore. We are so proud of him. He gets a sticker on his sticker board every time goes.

Isaiah pulled up

Isaiah has figured out how to pull up in his crib. This makes for interesting bed times when he doesn’t know how to get back down. Jared and Isaiah are playing a lot more together and we love watching them interact.

Zoo Trip

Isaiah’s crawling

We were excited when Isaiah started crawling last week. Crawling almost three months before his brother did we didn’t think about what trouble we were in.Isaiah is a sweet heart though and we love seeing him grow
